Wood and exposed stone character features..
This compact and cosy cottage offers open plan living and dining space. A wood burning stove provides a fantastic feature and is great for cosy evenings, with exposed stone walls and feature beams. Although space limited the kitchen houses a washer dryer, full size dishwasher, oven, electric hob and an under counter fridge with small box freezer.
From the primary double bedroom a view of St Ives and the Bay with Godrevy lighthouse in the distance. Across the landing and at the front of the cottage, a single bedroom with one full size single bed. The shower, loo and wash basin is also upstairs and situated between the 2 bedrooms.
10 Sandows Lane benefits from a small outside courtyard, perfect for that morning coffee or well deserved early evening glass of wine.
Reviews
We have just returned from a weekend at the cosy cottage. Myself, husband, 4 year old and 7 months old puppy. The location is great as only a 10-15 minute walk to the harbour. Parking isn’t great but the pre instructions are helpful. Our host was very responsive to all messages prior to staying, she recommended a local dog sitter and on arrival (slightly early) we were allowed to check in. Which was needed after a 6 hour drive! The cottage was clean and had everything you needed, but it is ‘cosy’! St Ives was beautiful (even in February) amazing beaches, pubs, restaurants , cafes and shops, all of which were very dog and child friendly. We will definitely be returning.
10 Sandows Lane reminded us of a ship's cabin: beautifully crafted, full of historic character, tidy, tight, and functional. As visitors from the U.S., we appreciated this glimpse into Cornish history. The modern restoration of this fisherman's cottage provides all the necessities--and even a few luxuries (dishwasher, washing machine)--in a small space; and there's even a tidy little garden. Down a quiet pedestrians-only close, it is located away from the tourist hurly-burly, which is easily accessible via a 10-minute walk downhill. Note that this means (as everywhere in St. Ives), that it's a 15-minute walk uphill to reach home. Lisa was a marvelous host, offering local tips and arranging a parking space for us at the RFC lot--a 15 minute walk uphill/downhill. People with mobility issues might struggle a bit with the stairs to the first floor, but our 70 +/- year-old knees managed it well. Altogether, we thoroughly enjoyed our week's sojourn in the cottage.
We loved this cottage. It was warm and cosy and had loads of beautiful original features. The location is great. 10-15 minutes from the main car park and the same into town. Because it's away from the main road, it is really quiet (apart from sea gulls) and the view of the light house and bay from the top back window is just gorgeous! There is everything you need in the kitchen. The wifi and services were great. The dog absolutely loved it! And so did we!!!!
We have just had a lovely weekend break at Sandows Lane cottage in St Ives. The cottage was a great stylish space and made for a very comfortable stay. A short walk to the main town centre/ shops & restaurants. We would highly recommend. Thanks again Sandy Toes.
What a little gem of a cottage. Super cosy and tucked away in a little lane. Quiet and comfortable for the two of us and our dog. Easy ten minute walk to St Ives and the slight hill back to the cottage burned off a few of the calories we had consumed in the many great pubs and restaurants! Loved the woodburner and comfy sofa. Very clean and welcoming. Will definitely be back.
It's a lovely house for family, we sit around wood burner and play cards in the evening, because the weather is bad. Lisa is really kind and nice! She always reply messages timely. The Tate in St Ives is worth a visit. The kitchen is fantastic, you can find anything you want to use. Highly recommend buying some fresh sea food and cook by yourself, and then enjoy the evening in this cosy house.
This is a cute little cottage nestled in the backstreets of St Ives. It was just big enough for us as a family of 3 and I’d suggest it’s a little too small for 4 adults to have a comfortable stay.
That said, it has everything you need for a week away, washing machine, dishwasher etc which take the effort out of cleaning and mean you don’t have a bucket load of washing on your return.
We managed to find parking on the streets around the house for the week which worked well to save a few £££ on parking.
It’s a short walk to central St Ives aswell as to any of the beaches.
