This is a lovely cottage, really conveniently located (crucially it's not too much uphill from the beach and St Ives town!). We would really recommend hiring the parking space in the rugby club that Lisa can provide, £45 was definitely worth it for knowing we had a reserved space all week.

The property was clean, comfortable and really well equipped. We had a fabulous time!

Lizzie

Everything about my stay at Orca House was amazing. On arrival it was spotless and appreciated the welcome basket of food and wine and the Christmas decorations Easy walk to the harbor and beaches.. I worked remotely and the internet was fast and reliable. Lisa was so responsive to any requests. I would definitely stay here again or any Sandy Toes property.

Melinda

Sandy Toes provided outstanding service while our stay in St. Ives. The house they offered are a perfect fit for up to 4 persons. A lovely home in the pittoresque town of St. Ives.

Eric

Had a fantastic stay in St Ives, at Orca House. The cottage is well situated in short walking distance from the town / harbour and beaches. Also from Trenwith car park, which is walkable to and from (a steep hill, mind). The facilities at Orca House were very comfortable and there was everything we needed for a week long stay. WiFi and shower both strong! Would definitely stay again. Thanks Lisa and team for a comfortable stay in St Ives.

Alison

We enjoyed our stay, everything was as described. The place was clean and the beds comfortable. I took my mum who can’t walk very far, this cottage was in the ideal location as it’s close to the station and the town centre.

Enam

A beautiful, stylish cottage in a great location.

Close to the beach and high street. The property is well equipped, spacious, yet cosy.

We loved our stay in St Ives.

Myself and 4 friends stayed here for a week, and as soon as we got there we were so happy we picked it!! Gorgeous house, clean, comfy beds, and to top it off it’s in an absolutely beautiful place, very close to the beach and such lovely scenery!
Very short walk in to Hayle itself, where we found some really lovely places to eat and drink, and also not far from an Asda to get any essentials we needed.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, thank you Lisa and Serena for a lovely place to stay!!

Kate

Third time we have booked via sandy toes for our stays down in Cornwall. Our stay this time was in hayle at 7 north quay and was perfect. The townhouse itself was clean, spacious (6 of us) very modern and had everything you needed and more - I now need a quooker tap! The views from the balcony’s were tranquil in both sun and rain. Watching the boats come to and fro with an cuppa and even watching a local dog swim lengths in the estuary everyday was so wholesome. It’s a two minute walk up the road to Gilbert’s and then straight onto the beach with access. The beach went on for miles (no sardines in a tin when pitching up). Hayle itself had plenty to offer. We definitely made use of the Philps pasties and our kids enjoyed looking through the treasures of the emporium. Highlanes chippy is a must too! Lisa is very accommodating with advice and information on the surrounding areas for things to do. There is also a welcome book with such information inside too. We chose this townhouse in hayle after staying central st Ives the last two visits and the laid back feel suited us so much better. Although we still got the train into st Ives (recommended by kids and a must have!) as it’s our favourite place, but it was nice to visit and come away afterwards. Train was super cheap return and comes every 30 mins. We will be returning back without a doubt. Thanks again to Lisa and team for a wonderful stay!
Aimee

A lovely town-house overlooking the Hayle harbour inlet pools. Immaculately decorated, furnished and presented. The little welcome pack was a wonderful surprise on arrival.

The house is in a great location for exploring the beaches and towns. A few minutes walk from the local beach, 10 minutes drive or train from others and St Ives.

The panoramic windows overlooking Hayle harbour pools means you can spend hours watching the tide rise and fall, boats sail in and out, and sea birds come and go. We were lucky to catch the flash of a kingfisher too.

I can’t speak highly enough of Sandy Toes, really quick to respond to questions, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend staying with them.

I have a feeling we will return too.

Steve

An absolutely stunning waterfront property in Hayle on the North Quay dock, in a row of approx 15 contemporary 3-story townhouses, each with private parking space. Lovely linens and towels, well stocked kitchen and beautifully appointed, as per pics. Stepped out the front door and to the right is a short bridge which takes you directly into Hayle town. To the left, the north quay is still very much under construction. The water is literally right in front of the property and you can watch people on SUPs and in row boats going past. Hayle beach is a short walk away and the amazing strip of Towans beaches are just up the road. St Ives is a circa 15-20 minute drive. In terms of Hayle eateries, Feed for take away coffee and breakfasts was amazing and Birdies Bistro was a great find - do visit and sit outside if you get the chance. As always, Lisa and Sandy Toes on hand to answer any queries at really short notice.
Andrea

Luxury property in an ideal setting.
We had a wonderful stay here, enjoying the estuary views and a great property overall. The location is close to many places to eat and things to do. As the development of the adjacent site finishes, it will be even better!

We can’t wait to return to this property whenever we get a chance. It really is a great location and felt really nice- certainly an inspiration from the property and luxury setting. Thanks so much for all your support during our stay.

Fantastic holiday unit across 3 floors and great base to explore Cornwall. 10-15mins drive to St Ives, Minack Theatre and relatively close to the rest (Lands End, St Michael’s Castle etc) make sure you check opening times for everything first!

The unit itself
- Parking spot for one car allocated, plenty public parking for more
- Hybrid car I was able to charge from external plug point
- Easy check in at any time without having to meet host
- excellent kitchen, very modern appliances, very clean particularly plates/cutlery and appliances
- 3 rooms, 2 large rooms en-suite each and 1 smaller (2 singles)
- Lovely floor to ceiling windows view onto water. Comfy beds, always warm apartment
- Smart TV so easy to watch lots
- Lisa was very responsive to all questions and a helpful host

Highly recommended

Stunning place to stay in beautiful location.

As soon as we opened the door into this house we knew it was going to be a wonderful place to stay - beautiful views straight through to the quay and water beyond. The whole house is flooded with light, and everything is finished to a really high standard. The kitchen has everything you need to cook proper meals, and all the bathrooms are really stylish. We loved having the living room on the first floor as the views over the water were amazing - depending on the weather, we either lounged around on the sofa, or sat out on the gorgeous balcony.  The bed we used on the second floor was extremely comfortable. The location is fantastic too - a few minutes walk to the beach, which goes on for ever at low tide so never gets crowded, and an easy walk to the Hayle shops. We had excellent food at Lulu Shack, and the swimming pool cafe did fantastic sandwiches too.  Really recommend getting the train to St Ives for a day trip. Will definitely stay here again.

Penny

Great location to explore the local area. The Hayle beach is 5 mins walk and Lula’s restaurant was a great sun spot with great food and lovely beers / rose in the sunshine.

The house is very high standard with lovely balcony to watch the sunset and views across the water.

We used as a base for Carbis Bay and other locations close by.

David

Amazing house in a stunning location. The house is very comfortable and fully equipped. It was perfect for family.

Beautiful  beaches ten minutes by walk. Restaurants and shops within few miles.
Strongly recommend to everyone who wants to spend quality time in a nice place.
Jen

We’ve just returned from a fantastic 5-night stay at this lovely 3-bedroom apartment in Hayle, and we’re already dreaming of coming back. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by how clean and beautifully presented the apartment was — everything was spotless and clearly very well maintained.
The views from the apartment were absolutely incredible. Waking up each morning to stunning water views created such a calm and peaceful start to the day. The whole place had a wonderfully relaxed and welcoming feel to it, which made it easy to unwind and settle in.
The apartment was really well-equipped with everything we needed to cater for ourselves — from cookware to cutlery, everything had been thought of. It felt like a real home away from home.
The location was another big highlight. It was just a short walk to the beautiful beaches of Hayle, which were perfect for both relaxing and exploring. Plus, we were only a short drive from other fantastic Cornish beaches and coastal spots, making it an ideal base for discovering more of the area.
Communication with Sandy Toes Stays was brilliant from start to finish — helpful, prompt, friendly, which made the whole experience seamless.
All in all, this apartment offered everything we could have hoped for in a Cornish coastal escape. We can’t recommend it highly enough and would definitely stay again!

Blue Moon

Sumptuous cottage for 2..

Approached over a small footbridge Blue Moon oozes a chic bohemian style. Downstairs there is a spacious and comfortable deep seated sofa opposite a large smart tv. It is open plan with a pretty kitchen behind which is well equipped to cook a meal for two with a compact larder fridge, electric hob/oven and a Nespresso machine. Although we think you might be tempted to dine out by the extensive choice of divine eateries in St Ives.

The shower room and loo with heated towel rail sits opposite the bottom of the stairs. Upstairs the main bedroom has a custom built super king bed and a built-in wardrobe and another smart tv. The room is wonderfully atmospheric with its sea mural, sand and violet blue colours, mirrors and exposed rafter high ceiling. Next door it boasts a dressing room with a built-in desk/dressing table.

So many instagram features for you to discover in this compact and simply gorgeous cottage. The perfect weekend bolthole for either a couple or a single traveller looking for somewhere more imaginative than the usual accommodation options in Cornwall.

The on site parking space has a size restriction. Width 1.9 metres x Height 1.7 metres. This is due to having to drive through the opening underneath the footbridge to get to the courtyard where the parking area is located. The slipway down is also steep so we do not recommend it for low riding cars. The parking space itself is standard sized. Other parking options can be arranged upon making a reservation.

Please note, we do not recommend Blue Moon for couples travelling with babies or toddlers due to the cosy nature of the cottage and the steep stairs.

A perfect place..

Blue Moon is moments away from Porthmeor Beach, in an area known for its thriving artist community. Porthmeor beach is renowned for its surfing, alfresco dining experiences and magnificent sunsets. You are spoilt for choice when it comes to exploring in St Ives, a five minute stroll through the cobbled streets will bring you to Bamaluz, Porthgwidden and Harbour beach, along with dozens of high quality restaurants, art galleries and a plethora of boutique shops.

Moon Shadow is the sister cottage to Blue Moon. Neighbouring cottages located on the footbridge.

It was lovely to stay at Blue Moon. Very comfortable and in a brilliant location. Porthmeor beach a few footsteps away where you can watch the sun set, and if you are interested in art this is the place to be. If you love coffee there is a coffee maker and the apartment has everything you need. I really appreciated the milk and bottle of very nice champagne upon my late arrival. The bed was great which sometimes made it difficult to get up! I didn’t want to leave. If wanting to watch Netflix you have to create an account but Stan was ready to go. I would thoroughly recommend this beautifully done up place.

Emma

This is our 2nd time coming to stay at Blue Moon cottage. We were very pleased that we got a text to say our cottage was ready a few hours earlier than we expected. Once again the cottage was lovely to stay in and the welcome bottle of bubbly is always a lovely touch. We paid extra for breakfast again which is well worth it as we manage to make it last all weekend and it's very tasty. This time we chose to park in the long stay car park as having a kia sportage it was quite the squeeze getting the car in and out of the allocated parking space last year. But the parking for the long stay car park is only 1 minute walk away and is so cheap we didn't mind at all. We love the fact we are only a few minutes walk away from the shops and restaurants which there are plenty and some lovely walks. This year we also did the short drive to Hayle and had some lovely walks on Hayle and Gwithian beaches. The cottage is in the perfect spot for everything. Would highly recommend.
Tracy

Blue Moon Cottage was absolutely idyllic. Location, setting, beautifully furnished, a true home from home. Felt intently relaxed there, and was very sad to leave . Will 100% be returning to stay again, and will be recommending it to friends and family.

Sophie

I had a wonderful stay at the cottage. It was pristinely clean and the bedding, shower and overall facilities reminded me of a 5 star hotel. Perfect location close to the beach with all amenities in St Ives within a very short walk. The parking space was also extremely handy. I would certainly stay here again and have already recommended it to friends and family. Thank you very much!

Steven

If Carlsberg did Cornish properties, then the Blue Moon is well worth putting on the list! The property is literally surrounded by beautiful sandy beaches (all within easy walking distance) and Porthmeor beach is literally yards away including a perfect headland walk which was ideal for our Cavapoo. The property was clean, very comfortable and well presented. We particularly liked the small touches to our convenience like having fresh milk in the fridge, coffee pods for the machine and the bottle of sparkling wine that my wife seem to enjoy with her fish and chips on our first evening.

The only thing I would certainly suggest you must do is to check the measurements of your car (which I did) because I wasn't sure if our Volkswagen T-Roc would fit through the very narrow entrance leading to the carpark at the rear of the property. The decent, along with the slight dogleg makes it all the more thrilling, but with wing mirrors folded in there was literally millimeters to spare either side! Once safely through there isn't really a lot of room to maneuver, particularly if there is already another car parked in the furthest bay. However, there are plenty of carparks nearby so don't let this put you off from staying at this wonderful property.

David

Amazing place right in the heart of St. Ives. It’s a lot bigger than we expected and the bed was amazing! Really enjoyed the stay and we will definitely be back. Lisa was great with her comms and made sure we had everything we needed before arrival. 10/10!

Lewis

We had such an amazing time at blue moon. The cottage is so well equipped and has everything you need for your stay. It’s located in a fantastic place right next to the beach and also super close to the harbour and shops!! The bed is very comfy too 😃

Charlotte

Great for couples as a base for St Ives. Fantastic location right next to the beach and the harbour. Premium interior design and gorgeous big bed. Private parking is a plus although only for small cars. Traditional fisherman's building so walls are thin. Property manager was better than some 5* hotel managers I have come across, excellent service.

Callum

We have just returned from a wonderful stay at Blue Moon in St Ives. The cottage was lovely and very cosy. The Champagne was a lovely surprise especially as it was our 42nd wedding Anniversary and being able to park was brilliant. We would love to book again in the near future.
Kevin

Blue Moon Cottage is a beautiful place to stay. The location is so great - the beach is literally on the door step. The cottage itself is compact but beautifully appointed , cosy and well thought out. The bedroom is gorgeous with the most comfortable bed. It’s dog friendly which made it perfect for us and our little fluffy boy. Communication was excellent both before and on arrival and the bottle of fizz in the fridge was a lovely surprise. I’d definitely recommend Blue Moon cottage for a couple with a small dog.

Elaine

We had a fabulous stay at Blue Moon, the property was super clean and had everything that we needed with some lovely luxuries like the Bramley products, luxurious towels, Nespresso, quality bed linen and a treat left in the fridge!

This property is ideally suited for the beaches, the nearest being just a 1 minute walk away (but there is great access to them all including the dog friendly beach), exploring the town and art galleries and all of the eateries.

Having parking is especially useful although be aware both the access to the space and the space itself is small.

Thank you for sharing this amazing property.

Luxurious cottage for 2..

Approached over a small footbridge Moon Shadow oozes a unique style. Enter into the open plan living space which is a haven for tranquillity and cosiness. It has a deep, comfy chesterfield sofa, coffee table and 40 inch Smart TV. Underneath a simulated flame fireplace, creating an utterly tempting space to relax in both Winter and Summer.

The L-shaped kitchen and breakfast bar divides the space from the living area and provides perfect facilities for couples to dine in style. Well equipped to cook a meal for two, with a compact larder fridge, electric hob/oven and a Nespresso machine. Stylish textures combining both ocean-inspired and industrial design styles, underfloor heating and coastal curios.

Climb the original staircase to the bedroom which feels surprisingly spacious as it sits under the rafters. Easily fitting a super king bed, another Smart TV, ample built in wardrobe and storage. There is a walk-in rainfall shower with a pebble floor and a unique natural stone bowl sink. It is a space that oozes style and comfort with mirrors and superb lighting to give a glamorous atmosphere that somehow also feels rustic.

We stayed here for our honeymoon! The British weather was on our side and it added to an already fabulous stay! The location of this place really is perfect, right next to a stunning beach and all the local shops and restaurants! The place itself has stunning decor, it is cosy and inviting and has everything you need for a stay away from home! Not to mention the most comfortable bed ever!! I would highly recommend this to anyone wanting a stay in St Ives and we will 100% be back again!! Thank you for a perfect stay!!

A wonderful little cottage for two - location couldn’t have been more central and it was a short 30 second walk (yes, I timed it) to Porthmeor beach behind the property (and the sun sets over this beach!). The accommodation was spotlessly clean upon arrival, with a stock of tea bags and milk for us to use. It was our minimoon and the house was absolutely perfect - small but in a cosy and romantic way. Highly recommend booking here for your St Ives trip, 5 stars.

Samantha

I booked this cottage as a birthday weekend away treat for my partner. He loves Cornwall and has never stayed in St Ives.

We got to the cottage and we were amazed how lovely it was. It was cleaned to a high standard and a perfect size for 2 people. The bottle of bubbly in the fridge was a nice surprise. I paid extra for cooked breakfast ingredients and they didn't disappoint. All ingredients were fresh and locally sourced and we even managed to make them last for all 3 mornings we were there.

The beach is a 30 second walk behind the cottage and we visited the beach everyday and did the walks. The other way the harbour and shops are only a 2 minute walk. I loved that we were only a couple of minutes away from everything so easy to pop back to the cottage and drop your shopping off. But also set back enough that it was nice and quiet. You can hear the sea from the bedroom it was lovely to wake up to.

As stated the parking is quite a small space to get into. We have a kia sportage and we managed to get through to the courtyard with a couple of inches to spare as we went through. But once parked we didn't need to use the car all weekend so it was ok. But there are other car parks near by with very cheap prices to park so we may do that next time.

All in all we had an amazing time and didn't want to come home. We loved the cottage and we will be visiting again. I highly recommend it for a romantic weekend away.

Tracy

Contacted Sandy Toes very last minute and travelled to St Ives the same day, communication was quick and check in was a breeze, all info was provided well ahead of arrival. Property was beautiful, fully equipped, modern with a perfect seaside feel to it and much closer to the beach than we thought, literally in the heart of it all. We spent our days in the clear water and our nights on the beach eating pizza watching the sunset. Just beautiful! We will definitely be back. Thanks!
Rebecca

Moon shadow was beautiful and it's perfect for couples! Close to all the beaches and just a 5 min walk into town!
The shower products and the hand wash smell amazing and the towels were soft and fluffy! Bed was extremely comfy.
Can't fault this place at all (except no washing machine) (sinks big enough to wash stuff by hand though which is no issue)
Lisa and Serena reply to messages within the hour and happy to point you in the right direction!

Going to stay again next year!

Reviewed by my girlfriend who I booked the trip for…

I travelled to St Ives for a short break alone and had the pleasure of staying at Moonshadow.

Firstly the cottage is right behind the beautiful Porthmeor Beach – for me one of the best beaches in the South West if not the world!

Upon entering the cottage I was very pleasantly surprised, although the cottage is on the smaller side, the décor, layout, storage space and general feel of the property was wonderful. The bed was super comfy, shower top quality, underfloor heating was a lovely addition during Storm Eunice outside!

It would be a perfect place to relax and enjoy alone or it would be great for a couple. I am already planning to return with my partner as soon as we can!

Thank you for a lovely stay.

Sophie

Graeme

We had an amazing time staying at Moon Shadow and felt very well looked after by Lisa and her team. We hope to stay again soon and would recommend it to anyone looking for a romantic spot in St Ives.

Charlotte

Cottage was perfect again, can’t fault the stays whenever I am in one of your properties. They are clean, homely, comfortable and have everything you could possibly need. Have had two people who want to book the same cottage next time they go! Always far more superior to other properties I have stayed in in St Ives.

Louise

Perfect for couples. Doggie friendly which is a bonus. Ideal location, helpful hosts. Amazing facilities. Will be returning!

Robbie

The place is gorgeous. Great location!!! Parking at the island was easy enough. Home from home with modern yet comfy facilities.
Really fab base for a central St Ives holiday. And dog friendly too.
Thanks for a great stay!

Lucy

Great location and as advertised. We had a minor problem with a local builder but Lisa had it sorted out in no time. Parking in the Island Car park is not expensive if your car is too big for the house's own space. It was easy to get to once a local had told us to ignore the one way sign at the end of the road! St Ives is a great place to visit with lots going on - even in a very windy February. Be aware that the roads are very narrow in St Ives.

St Michael's Mount, a small tidal island in Mount's Bay is just a short car ride away and linked to Marazion by a man made causeway which us passable between mid-tide and low water. The famous Lands End and dazzling Sennen Cove beach are also worth a visit, a little further afield.

The house was everything we could have wished for and is situated in a very convenient location for access to the centre of St Ives, yet is also very quiet. We were a party of eight staying over Christmas, there was plenty of space for us all and we were delighted to find the house decorated for the season. The added benefit of a dedicated parking space nearby was a great bonus. We would thoroughly recommend Bay House to anyone.

We have stayed in many holiday lets and this was one of our favourites based on location and amenities. The kitchen was better furnished than most which helped with evening meals for the kids. The house has lots of space and we didn’t feel on top of each other. All the linen was pristine and the location was ideal for walking around at Ives and getting out to visit and explore other places. Lisa has a well curated list of restaurants and things to do locally which we really appreciated and there was a pint of milk in the fridge waiting for us in arrival for the cup of tea we all craved. Thoughtful, responsive and a great location. We hope to come back soon. Thank you.

We were absolutely delighted with the house and its location. Lisa was extremely accommodating and ensured she kept in touch during our arrival and had recommendations when the weather turned. The house is really lovely, perfect for the 8 of us, plenty of space and enough seating for us all. Storage was great with the utility area, under stairs area and landing cupboards. Despite only a tiny outside space we sat very happily in the sun on the front “terrace”reading our books in the sun with views of the sea. We wanted a very central home so that our teenagers had everything at their finger tips and this place delivered. They spent most of their days in the sea so the rear entrance with a hose down yard area was perfect. The bonus was the spacious master bedroom with the en-suite shower room. It felt like a hotel room. The top bedrooms did get a little hot at night (July) but the air conditioning units worked well. The parking space was extremely convenient .

This was a lovely house right in the middle of St Ives.

We had six people staying there and it comfortably accommodated us (and could have accommodated a couple more). It had everything we needed including a nice living room and dining area. The kitchen was also very well equipped. It was especially helpful to have three bathrooms.

All in all I would recommend this place.

Perfect facility and location for a family wedding party of 7 in St Ives. Spotlessly clean and very well equipped. Secure parking was an added bonus given the difficulty of parking in St Ives.

Had a great few days in St Ives…whole family loved the house….such a great spot especially for rolling home after the never ending eating of amazing food available in town! Lovely house…perfect for our family short break at Easter. Great location close to town and beaches. The whole process to book and check in and out was smooth and plenty of info to cover everything we needed to know provided. Thanks Lisa!

We have just returned from a wonderful week in St Ives!
A great base, set only a few minutes from the harbour. Bonus to get a parking space and not too narrow!
The house is well equipped and benefits from fans in the bedrooms.
There is a little courtyard at the back, perfect for drying your beach attire!
I would recommend Beer&Bird takeaway service and Yallah serves the best coffee!
