We’ve enjoyed a fresh and blustery two weeks in St Ives. The apartment is modern, clean and very well thought out. There was nothing we wanted for. Lisa was helpful and responded to messages cheerfully and quickly. The highlight for us was undoubtedly the island (just a short walk). We spotted tuna and common dolphins in St Ives Bay as well as many different types of birds. St Ives Bakery is worth a visit for cruffins!

Julie

Five star stay. Fantastic location and amazing apartment. Has everything you could need for two people. The apartment was spotlessly clean and our host was fab with communication. Nearest beach less than a five minute walk, really close access to the Harbour and the rest of St Ives. Would recommend having a beach crawl day and also taking the train from St Ives to St Erth and back for the scenic views, truly stunning. You won’t regret your stay here. We would return in a heartbeat.

Emma

Absolutely splendid stay. Breathtaking ocean view, spotless refurbished interior, close to everything in St Ives, perfectly priced for our budget, and wonderfully thoughtful and responsive team. Honestly couldn’t ask for much more!

Christian

Lovely apartment, had everything you could need and was very clean. It’s in a great location and an amazing view to wake up to. The team at Sandy Toes were efficient and provided little extras which was appreciated.

Libby

An amazing place, even better than the pictures made out. I could stare at the view all day. The whole place was very clean and had everything you need and more. The parking space was an added bonus. A short (and hilly!) walk into town and very close to the beach. Quiet and cosy apartment and really comfy bed. Great communication with Sandy Toes. I would love to go back again.

Steven

Fantastic views, creature comforts and ideals located for walks either into the town, over to the sea front of just wandering.

Make sure you've got a nice small back pack for the 08:00 bakery run down the hill.

Apartment is furnished with everything and a bit more.

Ant

Great apartment for a couple. Close to the town centre and beaches. Very clean and well appointed with everything you need. Added bonus of a parking space was available when we stayed over the new year.

Nick

Godrevy: Living Room

Traditional cottage in a rural paradise..

Gorse Cottage is a tastefully converted property, which was formerly part of a farm complex. Its location is a rural paradise for those wanting some time away from the crowds, yet who also want to enjoy the beaches and the buzz of St Ives. Rather than seagull cries you will hear the soothing sounds of birdsong and the fragrance of flowers will waft in the warm air from the bushes in the garden.

Gorse Cottage has two bedrooms with the main bedroom having a double bed and the second bedroom being able to sleep up to two in twin singles. The bathroom is on the same floor as the bedrooms. Walk in from the garden into a bright open plan well-equipped kitchen, dining area and a living room for up to four people with the focal point being a wood burner. You will have plenty of wood during your stay ensuring you are warm and comfortable whatever the time of year. Gorse Cottage has it’s own parking space, free WiFi, BBQ, washing machine, tumble dryer, body boards and a variety of wet suits for guest to use.

With the wood burner, artwork and delightful garden, Gorse Cottage offers a complete ‘home from home’ experience and more. Original artwork can be found throughout the cottage and the well-stocked garden is a delight. There are plenty of local maps and for the art lover or garden enthusiast there are numerous books to enjoy.

A perfect place..

Dogs are very welcome at Gorse Cottage and the garden is ideal for all the family; a safe haven for children to play or just somewhere to sit and relax after a day on the beach. Please note that although the garden is fully fenced, it is only 3ft high and is slatted. Larger dogs may be able to jump over and smaller dogs may be able to get under so always advisable to keep them under supervision.

For walkers there are spectacular walks on your doorstep. Go for an invigorating walk via Rosewall Hill to Zennor taking in the stunning views of St Ives, or stroll up to Knill’s monument which is on St Michael’s Way.

Whilst Gorse Cottage boasts plenty of rural charm it’s a perfect base for visiting the many attractions of South West Cornwall and visitors return year after year to walk along the coast path.

We had a wonderful stay at Gorse Cottage for our first time in St Ives, would definitely recommend staying here! The cottage is so cosy and peaceful, a great place to relax in a rural, hidden location. It had everything we needed, was really clean and has a lovely garden (which our 2 pups loved!). 5 minute drive into the centre of St Ives, 15 min walk (although hard work on the way back up- great for burning off Cornish pasties!). We would love to return in the winter and use the fabulous log burner fire 🙂

Emily

We had 12 nights in Gorse Cottage and absolutely loved it. The cottage was very clean with a really well equipped kitchen, 2 comfortable sofas and a fab log burner. We didn't use the log burner as the weather was exceptional during our stay. Good shower which is always a plus. More than enough room for just the 2 of us. Washing machine and tumble dryer came in handy once or twice. The walk into St Ives takes about 20 mins or so. The lane to the cottage is not lit so at night you'd need to drive or use a taxi, which we did on numerous occasions, only cost £7 from Ace taxis office in the centre. A great base for exploring, top 2 for us was Kynance Cove and the Minnack Theatre. I would highly recommend a stay here, we will definitely be back!!

Stewart

What a little gem! This is a perfectly located place if you want to be abls to relax in your own garden but easily walk into the bubbling atmosphere of St Ives. The cottage is cosy and will make you feel at home straight away. Our dog enjiyed the garden and we enjoyed the space to have our own bbq.
The cottage was well equipped and very clean, we will definitely plan on visiting again!

Bethan

We had a lovely stay in Gorse cottage. It is in a good location close to St Ives meaning it was easier to drive around and explore Cornwall. The cottage was very clean and cosy, especially with the wood burner on! The self check in was also very convenient. I would definitely recommend the cottage to others.

Alicia

Just returned from a much needed break at Gorse Cottage. We all slept well in very comfortable beds with crisp white bed linen. We enjoyed the artwork, amenities (especially log burner) and proximity to many beautiful locations. Would thoroughly recommend and hope to return again.

Sarah

A great little base for families wanting to enjoy St Ives!
Lisa was a great host and replied quickly on the day when we were there a little early. Greatly appreciated after such a long drive!
You have to be a little bit brave on the lane leading up to the cottage but Lisa was excellent at providing clear and detailed guidance to find the property. The 20 minute walk into the the town is very pretty and fairly easy (our kids are 9 and 11).
The cottage one of the best equipped properties we have ever used. The washing machine and tumble dryer were so useful. The kitchen is lovely and easy to use.
Honestly we highly recommend Gorse Cottage - we loved our stay.

A newly refurbished bathroom, WC, sink with bath and overhead shower completes the accommodation at the perfectly located and characterful cottage.

Reviews

This is the second of Sandy Toes' properties we have stayed in, and it was as homely, clean, well equipped and perfectly positioned as the first.

It is in a wonderful location (especially when holidaying with dogs, as there are 2 beaches and a large grassed area near the Island car park for walks). The accommodation was cosy and warm; the perfect place to hunker down after being out in the elements. The kitchen was really well equipped which made cooking evening meals (when we didn’t want to go out in the inclement weather again) a breeze.

The beds were really comfortable, and I slept soundly every night. The bathroom was beautifully decorated and clean, and the shower was hot and powerful. The washing machine and tumble dryer have proven invaluable after several soggy dog walks!

We have had a wonderful break, and I wouldn’t hesitate to re-book this property.

Abigail

We booked Pilchards cottage as a long awaited mini bonding session with my mum and sister, and we could not have hoped for anything better. The cottage is in a perfect location to explore St Ives from the beautiful Portmeor beach and the Tate, to the Harbour, shops and restaurants. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at the recommended Mermaid restaurant just around the corner and indulged in a bit of art retail therapy from the many galleries dotted around. The place is beautifully appointed, comfortable and cosy. Lisa was very helpful and immediately responded when we struggled with the oven. She has also been very helpful in dealing with an accidental breakage.
All in all a five star experience.

Michele

AMAZING STAY! I Definitely recommend this lovely little cottage it is in the perfect location with 3 beaches and the main high street within a 5 min walk. The host was so helpful providing information on the local area and answering any queries
Jonathan

We had an amazing trip. It was me and 4 of my friends, we ate out every day as there are plenty of restaurants and pubs to choose from! My personal favourites were The Hub and TaLay. You are a 2 minute walk from 4 beaches, 2 depending on the tide. We had a boat ride and got to see some seals. To top it all off Lisa is an amazing host, the apartment was perfect and had everything we needed. As well as this communication with Lisa couldn’t have been better. She answered every query we had very quickly.

Emma

Lovely little ground floor flat. Done out to a really high standard. Perfect location for the beaches and restaurants etc. Pleasure to stay there and will likely book again!

Andrew

We loved our time in this flat - Perfect location within St Ives, a 2 minute walk down to the harbour and perfect location for walking distance to other beaches (Porthminster, Porthmeor etc) The flat itself is very clean & modern, lots of storage and room within the bedrooms for 2x people to sleep in each room. The kitchen amenities are very clean and you have everything provided that you would need (Dishwasher/Washing machine included which was amazing!) The bathroom was also very high tech with a Bluetooth light up mirror, great power shower and towel radiator.

The flat is located really centrally but not loud at all, walking distance to lots of lovely restaurants, pubs & bars but would recommend booking well in advance due to most restaurants being booked up for the summer months! Parking in St Ives is generally not great but the Island Car Park is a 2 min walk from the flat and whilst busy, we managed to find a space most times just a bit of circling/waiting is needed! If not, other car parks are also within walking distance but the Island is closest.

Ella

Fantastic place to stay. Centrally located for all restaurants and bars. The property was fully equipped with everything you needed. Great for exploring the surrounding area.

We stay in St Ives all the time & this is by far the BEST location!
The most beautiful fisherman’s cottage.
Lots of thoughtful details, which made our weekend perfect
Thank you x

Elizabeth

Our week’s stay at Nancy's Cottage was fantastic. The house was perfect, great kitchen area with loads of space, decor all new and modern. Beds super comfy and towels super soft. All the added extras like wetsuits, beach trolley, wine chiller, large fridge and two TV’s made everyone very happy.

All communication was super fast and really helpful. We will be back for sure.

Suzanne

I cannot recommend Sandy Toes enough. The original property I booked for had to cancel at quite short notice due to essential maintenance so Sandy Toes stepped in and let me know what other properties were available for our dates and went out of their way to help.
We booked for Nancy's Cottage and whilst we were travelling down,  we were called by Lisa to advise that the property was ready and we could go in straight away when we arrived, which was ahead of schedule and a welcome relief after a long drive.
We had a bottle of wine and some Cornish biscuits on arrival.
Nancy's cottage is beautiful and perfectly situated right in the heart of St Ives. A 2 minute walk to the beach and town.
We had a small issue whilst in the cottage but Sandy Toes were fantastic, really helpful and reassured us immediately.
It seems like nothing is too much trouble for Sandy Toes and they provide a brilliant service for their customers, particularly Lisa who we dealt with.
I would 100% recommend them and would not hesitate to use them again.
Nicky

Our stay at Nancys cottage was amazing 🤩 the house has everything you need, close to the beaches and town.
Lisa is great and always reply’s to your messages within the hour!

Stunning home, beautifully presented and equipped with all the essentials to a very high standard. The property is very well laid out and easy to find, check-in was super easy and we both enjoyed the homely touch of the Christmas tree’s in the home which made us feel like a home from home.
The games / chillout space on the top floor was a hit for my son to relax.
