A great cottage- perfect for a family get- away. The cottage had a great layout, with plenty of space for 4 adults and a toddler. Everywhere was spotless and nicely decorated. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you need to create home cooked meals, showers were fab and the beds were really comfortable.
I really liked all the little touches- bath toys for little ones, nightlights and beach seats. Lisa also provided a child’s cot bed and high chair, which was really convenient.
All this and I haven’t even mentioned the location. Easy walk to several beaches, so we could have a picnic dinner by the sea, watch the sun set and be home in no time. We really enjoyed browsing all the local shops and walked the beautiful coastlines nearby. Can’t wait to come back.

Louise

Large house in a great location for exploring St. Ives. The place is situated over 4 floors and feels quite big. Check in and communication with the host were great. The front patio was great too with the good weather we had. Parking can be a bit of an adventure but that comes with the territory in this town. We had a great time!

The accommodation is in a central location and within very easy walking distance to all the beaches and shops. Fisherman’s Cottage wraps itself around you from the moment you walk through the door. It is very spacious, clean and luxurious with all the mod cons to make your stay feel special. There are three bathrooms which is great when you all want to get ready and make the most of your time there. Lisa and Serena were great and got back to us quickly with any questions before we arrived. The details provided helped us to settle in quickly and make the most of our time there. We are all so sad to come away but that’s a great sign of the fabulous time we had and we will most certainly be coming back next year. I can’t thank you enough.
Rachel

We stayed as a family of 6 and it’s by fair one of the roomiest cottages giving us sociable space and privacy spaces to relax away from the family. The house is central to the harbour, main shops and key beaches. The attention to detail around the flat added personal touches and had a beautiful view from the top floor room of Porthminster beach and the outdoor seating is rare in those tiny streets.

We did have trouble parking close to the cottage but that’s st Ives in general but the hosts suggested we book spots at the Rugby club which was easy though is a steep walk up but has a shuttle from Porthmeor beach.
The hosts were really helpful as well helping us with our online food shop and also anything we needed. We would definitely book again!

Superbly located Downalong rental close to everything St Ives has to offer. Plenty of space for our family of five, a really well equipped kitchen full of Cornishware crockery, heaps of wine glasses and a large table to eat around. Lounge area is cosy with comfy sofas, a more formal extra seating area, dvds, games console and lots of games. 2nd floor bedrooms were great for our three kids. Twin was pretty with seaside toys and window seat, double had a tv which all three enjoyed bundling in to watch. Upstairs Master had loads of drawer space, decent shower and a view of the beach from the windows. The whole place was well equipped and we appreciated the voucher for Norway Stores instead of a welcome hamper. Central St Ives shopping can be reached on foot in less that 5mins, Harbour, Bamaluz, Porthgwidden and Porthmeor beaches again on foot in 5-10 mins for each of them. Porthminster beach took us 15 mins to walk when laden with beach clobber.

The house suited our family of five with kids aged 9, 8 and 5 as various combinations of us could come and go during the day. It was a peaceful respite from the sometimes busy town centre. Parking wise, do follow the instructions, they were really helpful. We pulled up outside, dumped our stuff and drove off to park. Lots of rental folks seemed to be doing similar in the Downalong area. Roads are really tight on some corners, be patient! Island long stay car park is by far the nearest but impossible to get into. Maybe it is due to free parking in St Ives up to mid May 2021. People are always circling for spaces. Over two evenings we checked for spaces hourly between 5pm-10pm without luck. Managed to snag a space at 6am on the day we left. Otherwise we easily parked at the Leisure Centre long stay. Coaches are frequent down to the town centre but we walked it uphill, with the kids most days and made it there under 15mins from the house. (Also worth mentioning opposite the car park up there is a shop selling local beer, we stocked up there before coming home!)

Tips we learnt - book into the beach cafes. They get super busy. Many have take away hatches too. Porthmeor under the Tate was more small child friendly than Porthminster but both have super food. If you book far enough in advance try and get one of the pods at Porthmeor, they were heated and fab! Check the tide times, particularly if hitting smaller beaches like Bamaluz at the end of the road. If you have little kids, check out the ‘Soggy Bear’ books on sale in St Ives bookshop, the first one has Bamaluz beach, a hit with my daughter! Zennor just round the coast has the exceptional Moomaid Icecream and cafe plus a lovely set of walks. There is also a pub there. St Michael’s Mount is restricting tickets currently. Try on the day online if you dont manage to get any in advance as they seem to release a few more every morning. The local Sculpture park Nr Penzance is superb. Had a great cafe and a huge hill kids enjoy rolling down if you want 5mins to finish off your coffee! Get there early, it is popular. The company behind the property were very responsive and helpful. Always responded within an hour and were able to allow an early check in (we were the first guests after lockdown so this may not be normal!) We didn’t have any problems with the house but felt reassured they would have helped promptly if required. Would definitely book through them again.

Amazing place in the heart of St. Ives. We could not have asked for a better place to stay in Cornwall!

Mitch

Our stay at Fishermans cottage was absolutely wonderful.  IMMACULATELY clean  upon our arrival and wonderful attention to detail.  Beds and linen exceptionally comfortable, we all slept so well.  Having the easy contact details whilst we were there meant we had someone to reach out to should we need it, but we didn’t.

Thanks again and can’t wait to go back next year.

Best wishes,

What a fab place to stay, the location to everything is just great. Although spread over 4 levels each level is super spacious and theyve designed the levels so well to maximise all the space. Everywhere was so clean, and there was everything you could possibly need there. We loved our stay and will definitely look to come back.

Alice

The cottage was lovely and was a fabulous base for us all in the heart of the town just a stone’s throw from the beaches. The house was very clean and surprisingly spacious with its kitchen diner and comfy upstairs lounge. The bottle of bubbly and biscuits on arrival was a nice touch. Thank you for a great place to stay in St Ives.

Honestly couldn’t recommend enough!

The cottage feels luxurious and well decorated with a stylish nod to the seaside setting. The space was comfortably big enough for four adults to sleep, relax and eat and the kitchen was very well equipped to whip up something tasty. Beds were very comfortable to sink into. The bottle of bubbly and biscuits upon arrival was a great touch!

The location is fantastic, less than a minute down to the harbour with shops and restaurants, or just a few minutes in the other direction to the Tate and porthmeor beach. Despite being so central it was quiet and delivered that much-craved seaside peacefulness.

Yes navigating the surrounding roads is tricky, and requires patience. But it’s worth it. We tried to park at the Island which was closest to the cottage but with all the will in the world we couldn’t get a space and ended up parking at the rugby club which cost ~£46 for the week and always had plenty of space. It’s a bit of an uphill trek but there was also a shuttle bus available.

We would also thoroughly recommend - among others - the porthmeor beach services cafe for a fantastic beachside breakfast spot, rum and crab shack for great Happy Hour cocktails, the harbour seafood restaurant for the freshest fish and chips, yellow canary for crab sandwiches and the beachcomber cafe for a generous Cornish cream tea.

Thanks to the hosts for a truly wonderful break away, many happy memories were made!

Tammy

This little cottage is well designed, beautiful kitchen, living area and bedrooms. It is well equipped and has everything you need and the welcome bottle of wine and ginger biscuits were a welcoming surprise. It's a perfect location for wandering around St Ives, right near the harbour, the beaches and easy to start hikes from up and down the coast. At night it was quiet because it's up a small alley without cars. A really nice place to stay.

Sharon

Gorgeous and quaint little house in the centre of St Ives! It was literally round the corner from the main shops and restaurants.

Porthole Cottage was absolutely spotless and we were greeted with a bottle of prosecco.

I would def recommend this when visiting St Ives!

Katie

We really enjoyed our stay at Porthole Cottage, the location was perfect for us and our children - only a stones throw from the harbour, local restaurants and shops and very easy walking distance to all four beaches. The property was just like the photos and very comfortable, plus added extras like toilet roll, hand wash, sponges, tea towels and washing up liquid were really appreciated. Lisa was so helpful, and responsive, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend a stay there!

Parvati

The cottage is lovely, it is very well decorated, there are a lot of cushions, throws and pictures which are making this place very cosy. The cottage is on the quiet street which is great for a good night sleep, but at the same time it is seconds away from the harbour and all the restaurants and cafes. Bedrooms are nice and beds are very comfy. Kitchen has everything you need to cook and have tea/coffee. A bottle of Prosecco on arrival was nice touch from the host. We really enjoyed staying at this cottage and would definitely recommend it.

Anna

An amazing cottage so comfortable and beautifully decorated! Very clean and bright! Perfect! A fabulous stay could not fault it!!

Caroline

What a beautiful find. Literally a stones throw from the beach front, restaurants and shops.
Stunning property. Immaculately clean, beds were so comfortable. I would rate it 11/10!
We had the best time. I took my two young children and we felt so safe.
Loved the wood burner and children loved the bedroom.
Can’t wait to return.
😃

Emma

We stayed for a week in Lisa’s cottage and felt immediately at home the moment we walked through the door. The cottage is beautiful, comfortable, and private as it is located on a quiet lane, but also centrally located in St. Ives. We had a fabulous time in this wonderful coastal town in Cornwall thanks to Lisa who provided us with a thorough guidebook and other recommendations. We appreciated the little extra touches—Lisa was kind enough to leave a bottle of wine and some cookies for us, which we thoroughly enjoyed after our journey to get here. She also allowed us to check out late (with a slight surcharge) when our flight got delayed, so we had the bonus of almost an entire extra day here. I highly recommend staying at this lovely cottage. Thank you, Lisa!

Juanita

Really top notch cottage just a few steps from the harbour. Very clean, very warm, comfortable & stylish. Parked behind the Sloop Inn to off load & re load. Steps from Norway Stores and all the restaurants, shops & galleries. Probably the best we’ve stayed in. Appreciated the coffee machine, lovely wine glasses, the SMART TV and the washer/drier. No sea view but you can in fact glimpse the sea from the back bedroom and through the porthole on the front door that faces down the Lane. Communication swift & easy. Would highly recommend.

A blissful little bolthole..

After a stylish and sympathetic renovation by the owners of The Little Snug. The cottage retains much of its character with exposed granite walls, original floor boards and feature beams but with a retro twist. Through the front stable door of The Little Snug you enter the living area furnished with two sofas, smart TV, bluetooth speaker, SMEG gas fire and folding dining table and chairs. A few steps up into the kitchen with solid wood work surfaces and baby blue appliances. An electric oven with gas burner hob, SMEG fridge/freezer, DAB radio, Nespresso coffee machine and milk frother. A small utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer.

On the first floor is the master bedroom with a king size bed, TV, vanity unit and a window seat with harbour view glimpses. Up a few more steps you will find the bunk room with two single beds looking out into the rear garden. A wet room with shower, wash basin and WC completes the top floor. The outside space of The Little Snug comprises of the front courtyard with bench and table and the rear garden with a terraced balcony. The rear garden is accessed through the kitchen which has outdoor seating and stunning harbour views.

Access to The Warren is extremely narrow and unloading outside the front door is not possible. We recommend unloading from the Station car park by the steps leading down to the Pedn Olva.

A perfect place..

The Little Snug is the perfect bolt hole for a couple or a family of four. Set within The Warren which is a quaint little street just off St Ives town. The perfect base for exploring St Ives and beyond with all the amenities of the town and coastline at your fingertips. The Little Snug is also set above an all year round dog friendly beach perfect for your holidaying pooch!

The Little Snug is also perfect for those arriving by public transport as the train and bus station are only a couple of minutes walk away. The acclaimed Porthminster Beach Cafe is a gentle five minute stroll away.

We’ve been visiting St Ives for 8 years and this cottage is by far our favourite so far! The cottage is perfect for exploring the town and it feels so spacious when you are inside which is great for us with two dogs! The main bedroom is beautiful and the bed is so comfy. Lisa is a great host who communicated well and left us some treats when we arrived ☺️ we will definitely stay here again! Thank you x

Ellie

Location and space exceeded all expectations. Great little cottage for a small family. Thank you for hosting us. We loved The Little Snug and it exceeded all expectations. Perfect for our little family!

Heather

I’m so glad I stayed at The Little Snug. It’s such a lovely cottage, exactly like the pictures, and in a great location. My sister and I weren’t sure where to stay and Lisa and the team were so helpful and new exactly what we were looking for. The cottage was very clean and had all of the amenities that you’d need, including a lovely complementary bottle of cava and some lovely biscuits (both really appreciated after a 7 hour drive!) I would definitely recommend it.

Lou

This is a lovely little fisherman’s cottage situated so close to the centre of everything you’d need in St Ives! It is quirky, low ceilings which at 6’4” took a few bangs to get used to, and maintained the cosy feel we wanted. The outside space is amazing with views across the harbour which was perfect for early eating and a late glass of wine! Parking can be a challenge but we arrived later in the day and the station car park is literally 5 minutes walk from the front door. Would thoroughly recommend and return again!

Andy

We really enjoyed our stay. It was perfect location and close to the train station. The cottage was lovely, clean and well furnished. It was a perfect place from which to explore St Ives. Highly recommend.
Tom

Lovely property, amazing location and great amenities. Would love to stay again.

Patrick

The little snug is perfect. A wonderful location, close to the beach, restaurants and All St Ives facilities. The cottage itself is beautiful, cosy but perfectly appointed, great views and a place we would return to without hesitation. We would highly recommend this fantastic accommodation.

Helen

Fantastic 4 days away. We were so lucky with the weather sunny all the time. 5 mins walk into the middle of the town, great food had a lovely meal at The Loft and the Seafood Cafe. We will definitely be coming back to The Little Snug😊😊 one of the best things was seeing the seals😀😀 the walk along the Coastal Path from Porthminster Beach to Carbis Bay . We would fully recommend a stay here 😊😊😊😘

Jules

The Little Snug cottage was the perfect place for break in St.Ives.. Having been on holiday there for the last 20years.. We have never stayed that side of St. Ives and it was a great location.. especially being able to hear the waves lapping at the shore.. heavenly!

Originally part of a Victorian villa style hotel, designer Alan McVitty has returned Primrose Court 'A' to its former glory and added a contemporary twist. The interior offers the blend of comfort and style you might expect from the designer behind the interiors of the Queen Mary II.

The lounge is furnished with engulfing wing chairs, sofa and reading lamps. An antique chandelier once belonging to a former mining captain, dark wood floors and a light linen rug. High end surround sound system with 32' LCD TV, YouView box with Netflix. The candles in the fireplace can be lit to create a warm ambience by a remote from the comfort of the sofa.

Primrose Court 'A's kitchen and dining area is located within the open plan living space. Fully equipped with washer/dryer, dishwasher, microwave (with browning grill), electric cooker and hob with a fridge/freezer. Black granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances. Nespresso machine and cafetière (plunger style) for coffee.

The dining area includes a round glass table with four contemporary back fabric chairs, two of which offer harbour and ocean views. Sweeping views of St Ives Harbour and the bay.

The master bedroom is fit for a king with Art Nouveau wardrobe and exquisitely comfortable queen size bed. French doors leading directly onto the terrace with ocean and harbor views. Minimalist en suite with rain shower, Philippe Starck fittings and low level LED night lighting.

The apartment's location is amazing - just a couple of minutes walk from beautiful Porthminster beach, and all the hustle and bustle of St Ives, but tucked away in a quiet and peaceful enclave. The apartment is furnished to a very good standard, everything is good quality and attractive. The bedrooms are reasonably spacious, and the living space is fine for a holiday in which you're mostly outside. Communication with Lisa was exceptional - replies were very quick and very helpful.
Clea

Truly breathtaking views from the balcony across St Ives bay.. wonderful place to relax in the evening. Great to have parking directly outside although sometimes a little tricky to manoeuvre up the slope as we have a biggish car. Very comfy beds excellent showers...kitchen small but well equipped. All in all a fab base from which to explore St Ives and the surrounding area.
Philippa

The accommodation was excellent; clean, perfectly situated and spacious enough for 2 couples. The kitchen was well equipped. The apartment is ideal for a 10 minute walk St Ives town or a 2 minute walk to Porthminster beach. One evening we walked to Carbis Bay for dinner which was 25 minutes. The addition of free use of the spa for 2 was a lovely additional benefit. We would definitely be staying again in the future.

Madeline

We had a wonderful stay in Primrose Court A- the apartment was beautifully clean, well-equipped and the inclusion of items such as handwash, washing up liquid, cloths and big bags was so useful (small things make a big difference!). The location was fabulous- just a couple of minutes' walk to Porthminster Beach, and we loved sitting out on the balcony with its amazing view and patio heater in the evenings. 10/10
Amy

Excellent location for exploring all that St. Ives has to offer. The communication with Sandy Toes was effortless. The facilities were exactly as described and were ideal for us. The check in instructions, directions, and instructions for everything in the house were perfect. We had a lovely time and will hopefully be back soon.

Serena and Lisa at Sandy Toes Stays are really kind. Me and my friend spent a wonderful time in the apartment. Easy to communicate. Let us check in early and have a late check out. Really nice. Happy new year!

Picture Perfect surpassed our expectations. It was lovely in every way…great bathrooms, comfy beds, fab kitchen. But by far the best thing was the balcony and 260 degree view…it was simply astounding. So so lovely—we ate breakfast every morning out there and came back for sunsets! Loved everything and would highly recommend…if you can book this place, do it!

We had a wonderful weeks stay at Picture Perfect. The location is perfect, with amazing views of both Porthminster Beach and St Ives Harbour from the private balcony. The apartment was spotlessly clean, furnished beautifully, and check-in was super easy. We can't wait to return!

You will not get a better apartment, stylish, clean and the most amazing views over St Ives. The outside terrace is fantastic, we had breakfast there most mornings.

Stephen

A beautiful 2 bed apartment with stunning views and ideal location. With St Ives town centre a five minute walk away, amazing beach and harbor views, and its own parking space, its hard to beat this property if you're looking for the a perfect UK break. The apartment was clean, spacious and very homely, we really didn't want to leave at the end of the week. Great communication from Lisa prior to check in and all very straightforward. 100% we would stay here again.

The perfect place to stay, especially if you are staying in on evenings with a brilliant dining space and balcony to chill on an evening overlooking the beach. Thank you for helping us make great memories!

Gavin

We had a lovely time. This flat was in a great location on a beautiful beach with good access to the town of St Ives. Stunning views, better than pictures. Would recommend to anyone!

Dorinda

Beautiful apartment with the most amazing views of the beach & town/harbour. Spotlessly clean with all the amenities you need. The parking spaces are a little tight but so good to have parking on the premises. This is a perfectly located apartment just a short pleasant stroll from the beach and town. We would highly recommend and would love to return. Lisa at Sandy Toes Stays was very responsive and helpful and kindly left us a bottle of bubbles to help us celebrate our anniversary - lovely touch!
