Our stay at The Poop Deck was perfect! The view from the property over the harbour was fabulous - never failing to lift the spirits. The location was also ideal, just minutes from St Ives’ shops, bars and cafés and always buzzing. We'd enjoy popping downstairs to enjoy a beer on the harbour wall, soaking up the early evening sunshine and atmosphere.

The Poop Deck was compact, but well-equipped and perfectly clean.

Karen

The very best view. Loved watching the tide change. Didn't want to leave! And the location was perfect. Would love to return someday!

Hope

Possibly the best balcony location in the harbour. the flat was well equipped and Sandy Toes responded to any queries immediately.

Jeff

We are so happy that we chose The Poop Deck for our stay.  The location is amazing, and sitting out on the balcony with the amazing views is just beautiful.  The placement of the chairs in the window inside is so clever as you still enjoy the views even when the sun is not shining.  It is very light and bright and the furnishings are very nice and comfortable, as are the beds. We loved the way the entrance to The Poop Deck is so private and whimsical.  When we first entered the view took our breath away.
I do wish the bathroom sinks were a little bigger but the bathrooms are lovely.  Everything was super clean and tidy.
Really appreciated the milk, coffee and biscuits and we had also ordered a hamper, it was perfect and very delicious.
Looking forward to visiting again. Thank you for everything!

A traditional and modern twist..

Seaglass Cottage has been recently redesigned and is the perfect combination between traditional and modern with a coastal inspired flare. The open plan kitchen and living area on the ground floor is beautifully presented and cosy with furnishings and accessories selected from the sought after Cream Cornwall shop. The cottage features many pieces of artwork from local Cornish artists. From the well equipped kitchen you proceed up the original and characterful wooden staircase complete with twisted rope handrails.

On the first floor you will find three double bedrooms. One of the bedrooms has a zip and link feature and can accomodate the need for two single beds instead. This bedroom also has a loo and wash basin inside. The coastal living inspired interior design continues throughout with sea life cushions and lamps and ash wood furniture. The newly renovated bathroom with walk in shower, LED mirror, wash basin and loo can also be found on this floor. Guests have access to all areas of the cottage, including a small outside space to dry wet suits and store beach equipment.

A perfect place..

Seaglass Cottage is within level walking distance of many of St Ives attractions, including Porthmeor surfing beach which is less than a one minute stroll around the corner and The Tate Gallery which can be seen from the cottage. For those wishing to explore further afield the adjacent Coastal Path provides for stunning walks in both directions.

Positioned directly opposite the famous St Ives School of Painting located in the newly re-generated Porthmeor Studios.

Seaglass cottage is a magical space ... you step right back into what was once a fisherman's humble abode a few steps from his boat in the harbour. It's been transformed into a very charming, modern cottage but still has the fisherman's village charm that is what makes St Ives the sought after seaside resort that it is... authentic, ancient, delightful. The walk to the car Park is steep but quick (just over 5 minutes). The beds are luxurious with comfortable mattresses and plump, crisply linened pillows. Snuggle up in the lounge under a woollen blanket if the weather is bad. The harbour is 2 minutes walk away. Kitchen brilliantly equipped with every amenity you would wish for. The new bathroom is awesome. My favourite thing... the old stairs to the upper floor.

The cottage is beautifully furnished and decorated and feels light and bright and surprisingly spacious. The owners have clearly considered all the needs of their visitors and have equipped the house generously and with great style. The beds are amazingly comfortable and the bedding luxurious. We adored the location, a few doors down from both a wonderful coffee shop/bar and a very handy grocery shop, and seconds from Porthmeor. We’d love to return again as soon as we can!

Seaglass Cottage is perfect. The cottage has everything you need and is furnished to the highest standard using local soft furnishings and crockery. The beds and sofas are super comfy. We absolutely loved our stay, four grown ups, a baby and child, there was ample room. It really is a stones throw from the beach, town and TATE. I’d book this cottage again in a heartbeat. Enjoy St Ives and Seaglass Cottage.

Amy

An absolute gem! The cottage location is fantastic and a very short walk to the beach, shops and restaurants. You have to sacrifice some space to stay in such a location and after all it is a fisherman’s cottage. Five of us stayed there and it didn’t feel overcrowded. I was a bit worried about the stairs because of my elderly mother, but she coped OK because of the rope she could hold onto. Missing it already! Would highly recommend.

Allie

A wonderful cottage in a fantastic location....2 minutes walk to Porthmeor Beach and the Tate, and close to galleries and harbour. Kitchen was well equipped and beds were all very comfortable. The Norway general store is just down the road. We would love to stay again!

Richard

Seaglass Cottage was in an excellent location for exploring St. Ives. It was just down the street from the beach, bakeries and restaurants. Our family was very comfortable there. The kitchen was well equipped for preparing some meals at home. I loved all the beautiful art on the walls. My kids also enjoyed using the beach toys. The loading/unloading spot next to the house was easy to use. We loved our holiday in St. Ives!

Megan

Seaglass cottage is the perfect place to stay to visit St. Ives. The beach is only steps away and even when the weather is not great, the cottage is a great place to hang out in. It’s cosy and stylish. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and definitely will be returning soon.

Jolanda

Absolutely wonderful cottage!
We’ve been going to St Ives for almost 20 years and this is the best for location, facilities, ART! and super friendly hosts.
It’s opposite Porthmeor studios, a stroll to Porthmeor Beach and a cheeky cut thru gets you into the harbour in 2 mins.
Totally delighted! 💗🎨💗

Wood and exposed stone character features..

This compact and cosy cottage offers open plan living and dining space. A wood burning stove provides a fantastic feature and is great for cosy evenings, with exposed stone walls and feature beams. Although space limited the kitchen houses a washer dryer, full size dishwasher, oven, electric hob and an under counter fridge with small box freezer.

From the primary double bedroom a view of St Ives and the Bay with Godrevy lighthouse in the distance. Across the landing and at the front of the cottage, a single bedroom with one full size single bed. The shower, loo and wash basin is also upstairs and situated between the 2 bedrooms.

10 Sandows Lane benefits from a small outside courtyard, perfect for that morning coffee or well deserved early evening glass of wine.

We sadly do not recommend the cottage to those travelling with babies/infants due to neither of the bedrooms being large enough to accommodate a travel cot. There is also only a shower and no bathing facilities. The dog leg stairs with gaps may be difficult for small children to navigate.

A perfect place..

An ideal base for exploring St Ives and beyond, 10 Sandows Lane is perfect for couples or a small family. This pet friendly cottage has easy access to the coastal paths, beaches and the harbour.

We have just returned from a weekend at the cosy cottage. Myself, husband, 4 year old and 7 months old puppy. The location is great as only a 10-15 minute walk to the harbour. Parking isn’t great but the pre instructions are helpful. Our host was very responsive to all messages prior to staying, she recommended a local dog sitter and on arrival (slightly early) we were allowed to check in. Which was needed after a 6 hour drive! The cottage was clean and had everything you needed, but it is ‘cosy’! St Ives was beautiful (even in February) amazing beaches, pubs, restaurants , cafes and shops, all of which were very dog and child friendly. We will definitely be returning.

Claire

10 Sandows Lane reminded us of a ship's cabin: beautifully crafted, full of historic character, tidy, tight, and functional. As visitors from the U.S., we appreciated this glimpse into Cornish history. The modern restoration of this fisherman's cottage provides all the necessities--and even a few luxuries (dishwasher, washing machine)--in a small space; and there's even a tidy little garden. Down a quiet pedestrians-only close, it is located away from the tourist hurly-burly, which is easily accessible via a 10-minute walk downhill. Note that this means (as everywhere in St. Ives), that it's a 15-minute walk uphill to reach home. Lisa was a marvelous host, offering local tips and arranging a parking space for us at the RFC lot--a 15 minute walk uphill/downhill. People with mobility issues might struggle a bit with the stairs to the first floor, but our 70 +/- year-old knees managed it well. Altogether, we thoroughly enjoyed our week's sojourn in the cottage.

Kim

We loved this cottage. It was warm and cosy and had loads of beautiful original features. The location is great. 10-15 minutes from the main car park and the same into town. Because it's away from the main road, it is really quiet (apart from sea gulls) and the view of the light house and bay from the top back window is just gorgeous! There is everything you need in the kitchen. The wifi and services were great. The dog absolutely loved it! And so did we!!!!

Tim

We have just had a lovely weekend break at Sandows Lane cottage in St Ives. The cottage was a great stylish space and made for a very comfortable stay. A short walk to the main town centre/ shops & restaurants. We would highly recommend. Thanks again Sandy Toes.

Bradley

What a little gem of a cottage. Super cosy and tucked away in a little lane. Quiet and comfortable for the two of us and our dog. Easy ten minute walk to St Ives and the slight hill back to the cottage burned off a few of the calories we had consumed in the many great pubs and restaurants! Loved the woodburner and comfy sofa. Very clean and welcoming. Will definitely be back.

Tori

It's a lovely house for family, we sit around wood burner and play cards in the evening, because the weather is bad. Lisa is really kind and nice! She always reply messages timely. The Tate in St Ives is worth a visit. The kitchen is fantastic, you can find anything you want to use. Highly recommend buying some fresh sea food and cook by yourself, and then enjoy the evening in this cosy house.

Luna

This is a cute little cottage nestled in the backstreets of St Ives. It was just big enough for us as a family of 3 and I’d suggest it’s a little too small for 4 adults to have a comfortable stay.

That said, it has everything you need for a week away, washing machine, dishwasher etc which take the effort out of cleaning and mean you don’t have a bucket load of washing on your return.

We managed to find parking on the streets around the house for the week which worked well to save a few £££ on parking.

It’s a short walk to central St Ives aswell as to any of the beaches.

We had a super week at the Carracks and enjoyed everything about the home. Everything was sparkling clean and a quick drive to anywhere in St Ives. We also enjoyed running along the little road and our toddler enjoyed the public playground nearby. Check in and communication was excellent and we can’t wait to come again!

Nena

Wow! The house is just beautiful and has everything you need. The kitchen was so well equipped and it had a great washer/dryer. The beds were so comfy and it’s decorated so nicely. When we first walked in, each room had the wow effect! Fantastic having 3 bathrooms and a downstairs toilet, made getting ready easy. The house is located just on the outskirts of st Ives taking less than 10 mins to get to the harbour area and for us that was perfect. The narrow roads of st Ives weren’t pleasant to drive around so valued having a parking space with the house so much and parked at the leisure centre park & ride or Barnoon long stay car park.

Sarah

We have just returned from a week away at No.16 The Carracks, our only complaint is that we could not have stayed longer! The house is beautifully presented, great size and the three showers are a massive plus. The open plan living was perfect for our group of 6. The three bedrooms are good sizes and again beautifully presented. On arrival we were greeted with an extra special welcome pack (i will leave the surprise for you to find).

The garden is at the front of the property, not that this is an issue, with a lovely view over the hills. The house is in a great location, about a mile walk directly into the town or if you get the chance a two mile walk via the coastal path (word of warning wear good shoes) well worth the extra time for the stunning views. We had a couple of meals out in St Ives and very easily got a taxi back... it is uphill all the way home. Lisa was an excellent host. Communication was spot on and accessing the house was nice and easy. Would highly recommend.

Paul

The perfect place for a family stay in St Ives. The house was super clean and ticked all the boxes for us as a family of 5 with a puppy! Although it isn’t mega central the house is perfectly located to get around Cornwall, sometimes we walked into central St Ives and other times we took the car. Lisa is the perfect host - prompt with messaging and very thoughtful. If you have a dog and fancy some dog free time we really rated Doggy Daycare Cornwall.

Rebecca

The house is very new, very comfortable and was very clean. As a couple with two grown-up children, the three bedroom layout with three bathrooms was ideal for us. It was great to have parking available and to be located a little outside the busy central area of St Ives. The walk to the harbour took us about 25 minutes and, although it is uphill on the way home, it made us feel less guilty about having all those cream teas and other delightful Cornish delicacies! The best way to get to the beach areas in St Ives is to take the coastal path which is easily accessible on foot from the house and offers stunning views. The check in and check out process was flawless and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Thank you Sandy Toes Stays for a great stay!

John

The Eco House (16 The Carracks) was absolutely as described. It was spotless and nothing was too much trouble. We asked for a bbq for our daughters birthday and Lisa provided one. The directions to the house were exact and we were able to park our second car on the lane parallel to the house. The walk into St Ives was worth it although a bit more of a struggle on the return!

Karen

We have recently stayed at the Carracks & loved it so much we have already booked for next year! It is certainly not a home you would only wish to stay in once. It’s is unbelievably clean & has the most homely touches. Lisa at Sandy Toes was incredibly helpful & quick to respond to messages (not that we needed any assistance, as everything was perfect) Cannot praise our stay enough.
