Nestled on the historic Virgin Street in St Ives, Virgin Croft is within easy walking distance to all of the shops, restaurants, beaches and galleries that St Ives has to offer. A winding path leads to a quaint wooden door, hinting at the warmth and comfort found within.

Entering directly into the kitchen/diner via a narrow path to the rear of the property. As you step inside, you’re greeted by a cozy interior, the cottage has a rustic elegance, with exposed wooden beams, in the relaxed lounge a stone fireplace with log burner and cosy furnishings inviting you to unwind and embrace the serenity of seaside living.

Upstairs are two spacious bedrooms, the main bedroom with views into Virgin Street, a twin bedroom and a bathroom complete with bath and overhead shower, WC and basin.

You can park up on the harbour front or The Sloop car park to unload your car on arrival – we recommend that someone who can move the car if required stays with the vehicle during this process.

We were pleased to find this cottage lat minite after our holiday abroad had been cancelled at the airport.
The cottage is central just at the back of Fore St, and surprisingly peaceful. It had all we needed. Lisa was attentive and text back quickly if i had a query. Had a great family time on the beach. Thanks to whoever left the bodyboards. Our 6yr old grandson loved it.

The balcony studio..

The Balcony Studio flawlessly marries a fashionable laid back interior along with the original quirks and features of this traditional harbour front property.

The unforgettable sea views as you sleep from the indulgent bedroom from a four poster super king bed with waves crashing at your feet, remote control curtains mean you don’t need to get up from your bed to admire each days new view. Glass panels in the hardwood oak floor look down into a magnificent William Holland Alvius spa bath from the bedroom. Big enough for four this bath has been made specially from tin to honour North Cornwall's rich tin mining heritage.

The spa bathroom includes couples rainfall showers, William Holland Alvius spa bath and “his and her” basins to match and a separate wet suit shower and drying room. Look up from the bath through glass panels into the bedroom above, or chill underneath the original porthole with views of Godrevy Lighthouse.

A brand new kitchen, complete with induction hob, beautiful SMEG fridge/freezer and wine fridge that is complemented by a separate island where you can dine if you decide not to visit one of the nearby stunning restaurants that are just a short walk away.

A listed property with historical significance on the front line of St Ives harbour “the balcony” of this property offers unsurpassed views and has been used by artists for decades to paint and capture this magical view. The balcony itself is an old wooden cantilever balcony that is a listed feature of St Ives and must be protected unaltered for historical reasons. While it is perfectly safe for adults to use it does require a degree of mobility to access. The access is by climbing over a knee high old stone lintel that forms part of the original thick stone walls of the house.

A perfect place..

As well as being infamous for its light and artists St Ives is also popular for winter storms and visitors all year round. You really are in a front row seat at Balcony Studio, located on the sea defence wall our large storms can break directly outside sending spray over the roof. The windows have been specially designed to withstand this and therefore must be secured properly at all times.

Enjoy a pre-dinner drink from the balcony or prepare your own meals in the newly fitted kitchen, a relaxing mezzanine level with sofa and Smart TV if you can pull yourself away from the balcony view.

Check into luxury at The Balcony Studio and enjoy exploring St Ives in style.

I stayed here with my wife for a short trip after our wedding and it was incredible. The charming spot was nested right into the coast and gave incredible sea views from the bedroom balcony. We loved the huge bathtub with powerful jets and the place only was 30 seconds away from some of our favourite spots to eat and drink in St Ives.
Would happily book another trip here, highly recommended.

Beautiful home in a stunning location. Incredible views over the harbour through the bedroom window - opening the curtains for the first time will not be forgotten! Most beautiful bathroom we have ever had. Very romantic, would highly recommend and will be back!

If you’re reading this and aren’t sure about booking, take this as your sign to do it immediately. This is the most well equipped, beautifully decorated, pristine home I have ever stayed in! It has everything you could possibly need, down to fans in the bedrooms, ample kitchen supplies, comfortable beds and couch, and so much more. Everything is labeled and organized so nicely. The location is perfect, just a quick walk into town, beautiful views from inside, and lovely neighbors. Sandy Toes were super responsive and helpful in every way, even when we had to change dates of our booking. We are so glad it was available for our Thanksgiving getaway, with our two little ones, to Cornwall! We would love to return!

Hannah

Superb place to stay! Tastefully decorated with all amenities we needed. It looked new and pristine. Immaculate and clean. The bathrooms were especially nice. They were spacious with everything just right, nothing lacking. Kitchen was equally impressive. Lovely new sectional to watch tv (Netflix) or read by the convenient lights. Accessible by foot to wharf, restaurants, shops and beaches on either side. Parking across from front door although we were not prepared for the tight quarters of the narrow streets we found around Cornwall. Lisa responded quickly when we had an issue with the key and was quickly fixed. All in all a delightful experience. Hope to return someday.

Rob

My brother and I stayed here for 3 weeks (we did a ‘workcation’ here, we basically remotely worked for the duration) with others, including family and friends joining us at different times. It was absolutely perfect for what we wanted - great location as you’re essentially in the middle of St Ives and a beautiful home, with space for us to set our laptops etc up! St Ives itself is beautiful with lovely shops, restaurants and beaches. Couldn’t recommend more and would love to come back!

Rebecca

We loved staying at Sea Green. We were warmly welcomed with a bottle of wine, Cornish cookies and even Cornish milk. Perfect for settling in. The housing was brand new and top notch! Everything about our stay in St. Ives was fantastic, from the linens, to the cookware and dishes, the cleanliness and quality of the bathroom furnishings, the lovely appointments and the outside patio seating just made for a wonderful visit. The house lay out was ideal, plenty of room for the five of us and having a bathroom on the first floor was convenient. We were able to cook in a few nights and enjoyed sitting comfortably around the dining room table. The top floor had outstanding views of both sides of St. Ives, and the master bedroom had a great view of the harbor. The location was excellent, just a short walk into town and having an assigned parking space was key. We took several day trips to the surrounding areas and enjoyed two nights of spectacular sunsets. I would love to stay here again.

Anne

What a beautiful home! Immaculate inside with all the things you could need. Felt at home instantly.
We travelled as a party of 6 with our two young children.
The children had the twin room at the top. Sunlight in the summer will make the bedroom hot but keeping the windows on vent and the blinds down made the nighttime more comfortable.
The steps up to the top room are a little steeper and narrow than usual but no problem. The children managed them better than me. There is also a permanent stair gate in place at the top of the steep stairs so we had no concerns at all about safety.
Location was great for distance to beach and shops. I hadn’t realised how steep the climb was from the beach up to the property but we managed it even with a pram. The roads in the town can be narrow but we parked our estate car easily. Paid for the extra parking space. Follow instructions to the property as the road beyond the property narrows. We just came in and out of the top part.

Charlotte

Stayed at SeaGreen last week April/May, we had a most enjoyable weeks holiday, the cottage is funished beautifully and very well equipped, easy reach of beaches, hrbour and shops, would have no hesitiation at booking this cottage again, thank you to all at sandy toes with the ease of booking and info provided.

Sandra

Comfortable, spacious, and beautifully furnished with everything a family might need. We had a lovely 2-week stay and the location was perfect, being just a 5 minute walk from Porthmeor beach and a couple of minutes from the shops. The steep climb to get back to the house got the heart pumping but it was worth it for the gorgeous views from the bedroom windows.

Wendy

We had a great stay! Location was central, home itself had plenty of space and was well-equipped. Internet was totally adequate for two people to be on video calls at the same time. Great communication before our stay and check out was simple.

Laura

Beautiful house with lovely sea views. Garden is a wonderful little sun trap and a great place to sit for breakfast or an evening drink. Immaculate decor and a comfy home. Well stocked kitchen. Easy quick walk to town and beaches. Having parking on the doorstep was great.

Olivia

A really beautiful house, everything very carefully chosen with some stylish touches. Really comfortable beds and well equipped kitchen. In a great location for visiting all the sights of St Ives, didn’t want to leave!

Fiona

We’ve had a lovely week in st Ives. The accommodation was cosy, clean and fresh and homely. It had everything we needed. The kids loved their bedrooms and the outside space was great. The couch was very comfortable. It was better than in the photographs.
Also quiet location but still close enough to the beaches and centre of st Ives.
We will happily book again to stay here

Claire

what a find, such a fantastic location, with amazing views from all aspects, a rare fund indeed. Beautiful surroundings, with everything needed for a very comfortable stay. lots of hilly walking but good for getting your steps in. We are frequent St Ives visitors and would say that this is to date, our favourite place to stay and will be back again for sure. Thanks Sandy Toes for your kindness and great correspondences.

Amazing location, very short walking distance to 5 beaches! Luxury feel throughout. The whole cottage is just so special, especially to see the views of the harbour from the top living room. Loved the kitchen, particularly as I had a birthday cake and roast to make, so the double oven was a treat. The nearest beach is just a few steps away and I started every morning with a walk on the beach and spotted a seal twice!
Helen

Wonderful week in St Ives in this fantastic house. The view is from the upstairs room really sets it apart from other houses. Beautifully finished and super well equipped. Just a 1 minute walk from Porthmeor beach. What more do you want. The house used to be owned by the family of the guy at Fauna coffee shop and he told us all about it's history which was very cool. Stay here.

Roy

A lovely house, so glad we found it. It was the perfect holiday. The views from the first and second floors are amazing.  The harbour outlook stimulated me to bring out my paints to paint the scenery.  We enjoyed walking the coastal paths both ways to Carbis Bay / Lelant and towards Zennor. Again breath-taking views. Nearby the beaches, restaurants, cafes, shops, and art galleries are right on the doorstep.
Theresa

We had an amazing stay at Fauna cottage. It's in an ideal location, easy to walk to the train station, and to get to all the shops, pubs, and cafes. It's new and clean, with ample bathrooms for the 6 of us. Loved the shower. The loft view is stunning, come rain and shine. Watching the colours change throughout the day was the highlight of our Cornish trip. Also we loved the great location for a cold winter swim then quick run back to the house for a warm shower! Highly recommended.
Joanna

We have just enjoyed our second stay at the amazing Fauna Cottage while discovering Cornwall. It has an idyllic setting, where you get a mix of everything for your holiday. Only mins away from the sea and the hilly country walks, were the perfect space to recover from our hectic work schedule. The great views are to die for and are the perfect backdrop while having to complete an urgent report. The wifi was excellent!! The owners provided us with some restaurant recommendations which we would never have discovered without their help, tucking into many Cornish delights. We will be back as soon as we can.
Dagu

We loved our stay at Fauna Cottage.  This cottage has been beautifully renovated and is both modern and cosy at the same time. Its central location meant we could live like locals, with no need to drive anywhere, as shops, restaurants and local beaches were all easy walking distance.
The kitchen was spotless and well equipped for self-catering and the cottage has enough bathrooms 3 to match the 3 bedrooms, which is key for me!
We literally enjoyed ‘Champagne views’ of the bay from the top floor and could not fault the cottage or its location.  We hope to stay here next time we are in St Ives!
Susan

The property was absolutely immaculate in its cleanliness and decoration. It’s location is perfect - just a short distance away from the restaurants and pubs but only a few minutes walk and close to several of the good beaches and the Tate. The kitchen is very well stocked with utensils and appliances. The dining and living areas are spacious but still cosy. The beds are comfortable and the bedrooms are bright and relaxing. I only wish our children were still young enough to enjoy the fun bunk beds. Plenty of towels and good quality bedding.
Communication with the manager was excellent. They were prompt to reply and always helpful.

Carolyn

We stayed here for a month and it was fantastic. Clean and comfortable. Right in the middle of St Ives, less than a minute walk to the beach. Was so great to be able to walk to all the shops and restaurants. Thanks Lisa we will definitely be back!

Andrew

Great central location. Very close to the beach. Plenty of room and super responsive and helpful host. I highly recommend.
