Reviews

Our stay at Sandpiper was absolutely perfect. The property was truly spotlessly clean - to the point where we were wondering if the bathroom and kitchen had been newly fitted. The bed linen and towels are luxurious and contributed to making it a very comfortable stay. The kitchen is kitted out with everything that we needed for basic catering, even tin foil, tupperware and flasks. The building itself was very quiet and we only heard a neighbour on one occasion all week. Directions, parking and checkin was very smooth. The joy of this property are the small touches that show thoughtfulness and leave you feeling at home - binoculars in the conservatory for seal spotting in the bay, board games, xbox games, night lights with individual torches (that sounds odd, but they were very exciting for us) and little local handmade soaps.

The property location is super, the nearby train station is not loud or disturbing, it is convenient for a trip into St Ives. It is a steep walk back up to the apartment from the beach when including the apartment building steps etc, but this meant that the property has a spectacular view of the bay from the windows, conservatory and balcony and it helped to tire our little children out a bit more!

Thank you for a fabulous stay. We genuinely wouldn't hesitate to book again if we return to this part of Cornwall.

Amy

We were very lucky to be able to book this apartment as someone had unfortunately needed to cancel, we were bowled over with the place, it is beautiful. The apartment was easy to check in, and absolutely immaculate inside. The view out of the conservatory and off the patio is breathtaking and will not disappoint I promise! In terms of location, it’s a short walk down to the most fabulous beach, two minutes walk (if that!) from the train station and equally as close to a couple of beach front bar/restaurants. The South West Coastal path is 2 minutes away as well and less than 2 miles along it to St Ives. A choice of a parking space or garage, and an apartment kitted out with everything you need, split over two floors. It worked out ideal for us with our two kids who loved breakfast in the conservatory watching the world go by, including seals in the bay! A very communicative host upon booking, providing everything we needed, thanks very much for a special half term!

Mat

Thank you for your email. Our stay at Sandpiper was just truly wonderful, thank you.  The apartment is beautifully presented and the attention to detail is notable throughout, from the fabulous art work on the walls to the towels, bed linen, soft furnishings and décor, all of which contributed to making our stay perfect.  The complimentary beverages were very much appreciated and we spent our first evening toasting the start of our holiday on the balcony, taking in the amazing view over Carbis Bay.  Sandpiper is an extremely well equipped apartment, which made it feel very comfortable and homely.
We have holidayed in Carbis Bay previously, but Sandpiper is by far our new favourite accommodation!
Jayne

We had an amazing week staying in this apartment. The location is fabulous for the beach and walking along the coast path to St Ives or the other direction. We had lots of great meals out in St Ives and Carbis Bay and some lovely meals in on the terrace too. The view is perfect and the terrace gets the sun which is unusual in Carbis Bay due to its North facing location. The apartment was beautifully clean and very well equipped and comfortable. We had the most fabulous weather but even without it would have had a brilliant week.

Rachel

Bought a three night stay here for my Mum and Aunt, as it was my Mum’s 60th. They had a fantastic stay, could not stop telling me how lovely the place was and how stunning the views are! They are both already talking about going back to stay at Sandpiper again in the future!! Next time I will definitely go with!!

Samantha

Literally in love with this apartment and Carbis Bay. This was the 2nd time staying here and have now booked the 3rd. A truly magical view which I can’t get enough of. As soon as I walked through the door I felt completely at home and relaxed. I have no hesitation in recommending although I wish I could have it all to myself .
Tina

We stayed at Sandpiper in January to celebrate our Golden Wedding. It’s a lovely apartment, really clean & well presented with private parking (always a plus in this area) As it was a celebration they left us flowers, wine & chocolates. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped. It’s got a lovely conservatory with sea views (a great place to sit & read or just watch the fishing boats bobbing about) Just 5 minutes walk to the railway station into St Ives & not much further down to Carbis Bay beach (although it probably takes twice as long to get back as the hill is very steep).

Joan

We had a wonderful time, which went all to quickly. Rest assured we indulged in all St Ives had to offer, well we were on holiday after all! With regards to our stay at Sandpiper and the overall experience of booking with Sandy Toe Stays I would comment as follows.

Accommodation extremely clean and comfortable with everything you could possibly need. Modern kitchen, two bathrooms and well equipped throughout. But the star of the show is the views from the balcony. Stunning. It’s that simple. Location wise, perfect. Close to the beach and coastal path into St Ives. But also if you didn’t want to walk the train stops 200 yards away. You can buy tickets on line and it is a 3 minute journey.

The communication between Sandy Toes Stays and myself was excellent, very reassuring and professional. But with a personal touch that is often overlooked by other booking sites. In summary, I would return tomorrow if I could. We would definitely return and use Sandy Toe Stays for our accommodation.
Brendon

Thank you for having us in your stunning accommodation! Amazing views, spotlessly clean, comfortable and perfectly equipped! Everything you could ever need and even welcome gifts of tea, milk, biscuits etc! Beautiful place would love to come again! Thank you!

A lovely cottage in a fabulous location. We had 5 adults and one toddler on our stay and the cottage was a great base for us. The kitchen was well equipped and everything in the cottage was smart and comfortable. The shower was fabulous! Lots of thoughtful little touches such as biscuits, milk in the fridge and Tupperware (always handy for meals on the beach). Although there wasn’t parking we could stop outside to drop off bags and they arranged a parking spot for us about 20 mins walk away. This was really handy and took the stress out of finding somewhere to park everyday.

Louise

Spotlessly clean and beautifully furnished, Barefoot Beach House provided delightful accommodation for our party of four adults on a short break to St Ives.
We loved the high quality fixtures and fittings, the location is great and Sandy Toes made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay.

Christine

Just back after a wonderful stay at this property; in terms of location it is two minutes walk to Porthgwidden beach and a short walk into the town.
The property is well equipped, it was spotlessly clean and the beds were really comfortable. I would definitely recommend.

Abigail

Barefoot Beach House is a beautiful cottage in a great location in St Ives. It is exceptionally well equipped, immaculately clean and furnished to a very high standard. I especially loved the clean fresh decor and beautiful pictures, ornaments etc. and the small walled off area at the front of the house with a bistro set was an added bonus! Lisa the host was also excellent and we will definitely book again.
Gwen

Lovely cottage in the heart of St Ives - would highly recommend! The property was spotlessly clean and beautifully presented throughout - the bedrooms were warm and cosy and the living space was bright and airy. We appreciated the little touches like good quality bedding and towels etc. In terms of location it couldn’t have been more perfect - 2 mins walk from a small sheltered swimming beach and a short 5 min stroll down to the harbour and lanes. The Island car park is literally 2 mins away from the property which we booked at a reasonable price for the duration of our stay - just be prepared if you leave your space it can be hard to find another one during the day! We were 3 adults and 1 child and this space suited us perfectly.

Kelly

We had a great stay, thank you very much!! Perfect location and space for us all. Would maybe recommend ear plugs for light sleepers due to the dawn chorus. Overall, it’s such a lovely house, recently renovated and really enjoyed our visit!

Vicky

A beautifully renovated cottage in the heart of the old harbour. A fabulous base for exploring St Ives and beyond. Communication with Sandy Toes was welcoming and seamless. Perfect place, thoroughly recommend.

This cottage is amazing! Very well appointed and super clean in a very quiet location yet yards from the beach, shops and restaurants. We loved it and will be back with our Labrador who really enjoyed her stay too!

Kevin

4 Baileys Lane felt like it had just been finished especially for us! A perfect location (about 20 steps from the harbour) deep inside the old cobbled streets of St Ives. The accommodation is superb. Beautifully decorated with lots of homely touches and all of the equipment you need to eat in or just stay over & eat out. The voucher for Norway Stores was a nice touch, given the Covid 19 constraints. Pre-planned parking required, but we took the advantage of not using our car for the stay - plenty of parking options in the town & a convenient loading bay close-by for luggage drop-off & pick-up. Don't hesitate to book this amazing gem of a place!

Lee

One of the best apartments that we have stayed in. Less than a minute away from the Harbour and great access to local amenities. Lisa was incredibly accommodating and even allowed us to check in early. The apartment was spotless and had a real homly vibe to it. Would definitely stay here again.

Francesca

Could not recommend this cottage or Lisa at Sandy Toes enough. My stay was amazing and there was absolutely not one thing I could complain about. It was perfect location, everything was provided. There are thoughtful touches which makes it feel extremely homely but at the same time extremely stylish and comfortable. The bed was so comfortable I never wanted to get out of it and the pooch absolutely LOVED it !!! Thank you for being so amazing with communication and any questions and the best host!

Louise

The accommodation is in a fantastic central location and beautifully presented - which is why we returned so quickly (we also stayed for a few days back in October). There were even some Christmas decorations in the apartment which was a lovely touch. Lisa is a brilliant host and provides fast responses to any questions. In summary, I would highly recommend this accommodation!
Nick

4 Baileys Lane was immaculately presented and provided everything you could possibly need in the compact stylish space. The location is also the best for being undisturbed but still in the centre of St Ives. Highly recommended!

Emma

I moved away from St.ives 7 years but regularly visit family. This is our favourite cottage yet. A perfect bolt hole, close to the town and beach, but still private and quiet. The cottage had everything we could've needed. it's modern but still has a charm about it. we will definitely be back.

Jen

Really enjoyed our stay in this stylish flat in the centre of St Ives. The property is situated down a lovely traditional street just off the main promenade. Ideal if you want to pop out for dinner then cosy up at home. Thoughtful touches such as a £10 voucher for the local store where a great surprise on arrival. The property was spotlessly clean and the location excellent. Hope to be back soon!

Jessica

We had a great time in St Ives and the house is the perfect place to explore it from! Perfectly located in the centre, but quiet as it's on a pedestrian only street just away from the busiest areas. Everything inside was very clean, exactly as in the photos, and the kitchen is really well stocked with everything you'd want to do your own cooking!

Reviews

Such a lovely home, the decor, the outside space, the location, all of this was perfect. We particularly loved watching the sunrise or sunset from the front window seats, very peaceful location. If travelling with a toddler, Lisa lent us a very good travel cot which was super helpful, plus with the apartment on the ground floor meant it was very easy bringing a buggy in and out! On a side note we would higly reccomend dinner at the The Old Custom House, on the habour front. Our meal was absolutely delicious!

Natalie

St Ives Dream is fantastic! We often visit St. Ives/Carbis Bay and this was one of the loveliest places to stay. We are a family of four with 2 young children and it was perfect for us. There was even games/PlayStation for the kids (and us) to keep us entertained (helpful during the winter). Location is perfect for a 5 minute stroll down the hill into the centre of St.Ives and with parking which is extremely useful. The apartment was spotlessly clean with some lovely welcoming arrival touches also. Would definitely stay again!

Vicky

This is an exceptional property which is located and easy walk from the town of St Ives. It is tastefully and comfortably furnished with everything that you could possibly need for a relaxing holiday. It was so well presented, spotlessly clean and spacious. Everything is of an excellent quality and it was quiet with parking outside. We had a wonderfully relaxing holiday and look forward to returning. I can thoroughly recommend this property.

Mandy

We came here for our honeymoon for a week and the accommodation was absolutely perfect. Very clean and had some lovely finishing touches. It's extremely modern and had everything that we needed for a cosy and relaxing holiday. We will be booking this accommodation again. Highly recommended.

Nicola

Great location with car parking which means you don't have to touch the car until you are ready to move on. Stylish and airy, all amenities in the apartment are clean and top of the range, the stoarge is great so you dont need to bring wet beach gear into the aprtment. Loads going on during the summer months in St Ives. Beaches 5 mins and 10 mins walk with the harbour between. Would seriously look to go back next year.

Mark

We have just returned from a fantastic week in St Ives. The apartment was beautifully decorated, squeaky clean and had every amenity that we could have asked for. The extra storage space for all things beach related was a wonderful suprise... along with the bodyboard and beach chairs for guests to use. A great place to stay with the family for a week.
Emma

What an incredible find. We were amazed when we arrived at the apartment. Spotlessly clean, comfortable furnishings, lovely lighting, well kitted out kitchen, full size freezer, massive smart TV, great games, beach gear storage and equipment, comfy bedrooms (great beds) and modern, well functioning bathrooms. So much storage space too. They have thought of pretty much everything to make a super comfortable and homely stay within a modern, hotel-like apartment. We were so happy to see a Christmas tree and decorations up for us too. Unexpected and so thoughtful. The walk down and up into town is very easy if you use the steps off Sea View Terrace. St Ives during Christmas is magical. Restaurants incredible and the walking is beautiful.

Seema

This is a brilliantly decorated property with many "small touches" that made the week in the flat wonderful. Parking is easy and very convenient for access to the unit. A well-equipped kitchen combined with a very efficient washing machine made the time spent in the unit very comfortable. It is located close to the delightful town. I can't recommend this property enough.

Absolutely fantastic accommodation with everything you need for a comfortable and luxurious stay. The host was really responsive and helpful with my queries and messages too. It’s fantastically located just outside of Truro with a 10 minute walk into the main centre. The apartment block is really secure with coded gates and entries. We found tea, coffee and sugar in the kitchen, along with a few games too. There were also towels, and a washing machine and drier which was handy after our days out. Each of the two bedrooms and living area were really spacious and airy and the kitchen was equipped with everything you need to cook for yourself, and also a dishwasher to make doing the dishes afterwards easier. The wifi was spot on as well, no poor connection. There was a designated space under the apartment block, and a lift up to the first floor, handy if stairs are a struggle. We felt so safe and comfortable here, it was like a home from home. We loved it!

Naomi

Absolutely beautiful...can’t recommend it enough ...a “must stay” home from home apt ...will defo be back with the family 💯

Shane

What a lovely place to stay! Very modern, clean and luxurious - breakfast on the sunny balcony over looking the woodland was a dream. The location in Truro is fantastic, only 15-20 mins from either coast and yet very private and quiet - a true Hideaway! Truro itself is a delight, with all the amenities you would expect from a Cathedral City! We would especially recommend the Cornwall museum and Bustopher Jones as a great place to eat, with locally sourced Cornish food!

Frank

Great apartment which we used as a base to see everything from lands end to st ives and padstow! Really spacious and clean. Best of all a quiet base so we could really relax!

Yasmine

Very stylish place, amazing setting. Kitchen was beautiful. The shower was 10/10! Bed was super comfy. Great location to explore the surrounding areas of Cornwall.

Jack

We stayed as a family in this great apartment. The rooms are extremely spacious and each with their own en-suite. The open-plan lounge/kitchen/dining room with large balcony made for a great space to spend time together and keep an eye on the children whilst cooking. Loved the peaceful surroundings. Although only 5 minutes easy walk to the city centre, it is hidden away in a very leafy, quiet and exclusive-feeling location. We went to Falmouth and Perranporth beaches which are only a 20 min drive away on the South and North coasts and Truro itself is beautiful. Would definitely recommend the Virtual Reality Centre on Charles Street in Truro to keep the kids entertained and The Old Ale House for the adults!

Adam

The apartment is fab, everything is new & super clean - all you could need for your stay in Cornwall. Easy check in & communicative host. Within easy walking distance of the city too, so even more desirable.

Clare

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the apartment. Wonderful facilities and a fantastic location for anyone wanting to visit Cornwall!! Lisa is a conscientious and super attentive host. 10/10 will come again.

Ajay Kumar

This apartment has the wow factor and is beautifully presented with superb attention to detail. The photo's don't do it justice! It is situated in a quiet location with a short walk in to Truro - just perfect! Lisa is also a great host, and answered promptly any questions I had. We will definitely be back next time we are in the area!

Jo

The apartment is fabulous, with everything you need and small touches that really make life so much easier. The location is brilliant, around 10 to 15 minutes walk from the centre of Truro, but the location is nice and quiet, so you can really have some time to relax. I stayed with four other family members and we all loved it. 10/10 would visit again.

Simran

Absolutely, absolutely amazing !!! The hideaway blew us away. So luxurious, so spacious, so clean and modern. Very central and yet so quiet. My family and me didn’t want to go back and we are already booking for next year. Lisa and the team were a perfect host and we had everything we needed. Can’t wait until we come back.
